Scuderia Ferrari’s new car unveiled
Just a few hours ago, Scuderia Ferrari officially revealed through a video the SF-24 that will participate in the 2024 F1 World Championship. Compared to the SF-23, the sidepods evoke the design of the Red Bull, a concept that has now become a trend on the starting grid.
Chassis Technical Director Enrico Cardile presented the new addition from the Italian side: “With the SF-24, we wanted to create a completely new platform. In fact, it can be said that every area of the car has been redesigned. We transformed the drivers’ feedback into engineering dimensions and accommodated their need for an easier-to-drive car and, therefore, to exploit and push to the limit. We did not set any design constraints except to obtain a robust and honest single-seater, which on the track does what we see in the wind tunnel, taking as a reference the development direction we adopted last year, which had made us take a leap forward in terms of competitiveness by the end of the season.” – the Italian engineer pointed out.
Today, the SF-24 will be on the track at Fiorano for the shooting – 15 km – while tomorrow the mileage will increase to 200 thanks to the new rules on filming days. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will take turns driving the new car, which will then return to the track next week during the three-day winter testing in Bahrain starting from Wednesday, February 21.
