Corrections Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026
This Corrections Policy explains how ScuderiaFans.com handles factual errors, clarifications and updates in its coverage of Scuderia Ferrari and Formula 1.
We aim to publish information that is accurate at the time of publication and to correct material errors promptly and transparently after they have been identified and verified.
Our commitment to accuracy
ScuderiaFans publishes news, race-weekend coverage, technical analysis, opinion and historical features. Although reasonable care is taken during editorial preparation, errors can occasionally occur, particularly when information is developing quickly during a Formula 1 weekend.
When we become aware of a possible factual error, we review the relevant article and available evidence. If the published information is materially inaccurate or misleading, we aim to correct it without unnecessary delay.
Further information about our sourcing, verification and editorial standards is available in our Editorial Policy.
What we correct
Corrections may be appropriate when an article contains:
- An incorrect name, date, result, classification, statistic or championship position;
- An inaccurate description of an event, decision or technical development;
- A quotation that does not accurately preserve the speaker’s words, meaning or context;
- A material translation error affecting the meaning of a statement or source;
- An incorrect attribution or source reference;
- A misleading headline, image caption or social-media description;
- A significant omission that creates a materially inaccurate impression;
- Information later superseded by an official FIA, team or championship decision.
A difference of interpretation or opinion does not automatically constitute a factual error. Analysis and opinion may be revised when new evidence becomes available, but corrections are primarily intended to address information that is demonstrably inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.
How to request a correction
Readers, sources and rights holders can report a possible error by emailing [email protected].
To help us review the matter efficiently, please include:
- The URL of the relevant article;
- A clear description of the information believed to be incorrect;
- The correct information, where known;
- Any official document, statement, result, recording or reliable source supporting the request.
Providing evidence does not guarantee that a requested change will be made. ScuderiaFans will assess the available information and retain final editorial responsibility for determining whether a correction, clarification or update is appropriate.
How correction requests are reviewed
When reviewing a possible error, we may:
- Check official statements, FIA documents, classifications, timing data or regulations;
- Review the original interview, press conference, recording or source material;
- Compare reporting from relevant and established sources;
- Contact the person or organisation concerned when further clarification is necessary;
- Examine the wording and context of the complete article rather than an isolated sentence.
We aim to consider legitimate requests fairly. The time required may depend on the complexity of the issue, the availability of supporting evidence and whether an official clarification is expected.
How corrections are displayed
The way a change is disclosed depends on its significance:
- Minor edits: spelling, punctuation, grammar, formatting or stylistic changes that do not alter the substance of an article may be made without a correction notice.
- Factual corrections: when a material factual error is corrected, we will normally add a note explaining the substance of the change and the date it was made.
- Clarifications: when the original information was not necessarily incorrect but could create a misleading or incomplete impression, explanatory context may be added and identified as a clarification where appropriate.
- Updates: developing stories may be updated when new information, official results or decisions become available. An update is not necessarily a correction unless the earlier version contained a material error.
- Editor’s notes: particularly significant or complex issues may be explained through a more detailed note within the article.
Correction and clarification notes should describe the relevant change clearly without repeating inaccurate information unnecessarily.
If an error also appears in a headline, image caption or related social-media post, we aim to correct those elements where reasonably possible.
Developing Formula 1 stories
Formula 1 news can change rapidly, especially during practice, qualifying, races, steward investigations and technical disputes. Provisional classifications, penalties and team statements may later be revised or clarified.
Adding newly available information to a developing article does not necessarily mean the original report was inaccurate. However, if an official decision materially contradicts or supersedes the earlier information, the article should be updated and an explanatory note added when necessary to prevent readers from being misled.
Articles based on reports or rumours
An article is not necessarily incorrect merely because a reported development does not ultimately occur. Reports, rumours and expectations should be identified as such and attributed appropriately rather than presented as confirmed facts.
A correction may be required if the article misrepresented the certainty of the information, failed to identify its reported or speculative nature, attributed it incorrectly or continued to present it as current after authoritative evidence disproved it.
Article removal and unpublishing
ScuderiaFans normally prefers to correct or update an article rather than remove it, because retaining the article and explaining the change provides greater transparency.
Complete removal may be considered in exceptional circumstances, including when content was published in error, creates a serious legal or safety risk, infringes privacy or intellectual-property rights, duplicates another page without editorial value or cannot be corrected adequately.
Requests to remove accurate published information will be assessed individually. ScuderiaFans does not guarantee removal merely because an article later becomes inconvenient or is no longer preferred by a person or organisation mentioned in it.
Reader comments
Reader comments represent the views of their respective authors and are not part of ScuderiaFans’ editorial reporting. Corrections to published articles do not automatically require changes to reader comments.
Comments may nevertheless be moderated or removed when they contain spam, unlawful material, personal attacks, discriminatory abuse, threats or deliberately false information.
