While waiting for new successes in Formula 1, John Elkann is celebrating Ferrari’s remarkable achievement in endurance racing. The Ferrari president attended the final round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Bahrain, where the Ferrari Hypercar team secured both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships. It was a historic double victory that arrived under the watchful eyes of both Benedetto Vigna and John Elkann.
While the Scuderia Ferrari’s F1 title drought has lasted since the distant 2008 season, the endurance program has managed to deliver a different story. In Bahrain, the Prancing Horse achieved a clean sweep, taking home the ultimate prize at the end of an extraordinary campaign. The team led by Antonello Coletta was joined in the celebrations by the Ferrari top management, who wanted to personally support the crew and join the well-deserved festivities.
John Elkann’s words from Bahrain
At the end of the celebrations at the Sakhir Circuit—which will naturally continue into the night—Ferrari president John Elkann publicly shared his thoughts on the achievement. “This is a result that makes us immensely proud,” said John Elkann. “It represents the fulfillment of a dream and the peak of a journey that began in 2022, when we decided to return to compete in the top class of endurance racing. Over these years, we have triumphed three consecutive times at Le Mans, and now we are here to celebrate two world titles. I want to congratulate a team that worked together with great unity, facing every challenge with courage and determination.”
His words resonated deeply with the Ferrari Tifosi, who are now hoping to hear similar sentiments soon in Formula 1. The team from Maranello is already preparing for the much-anticipated new technical regulations, which could mark the beginning of a new winning cycle and potentially end the long wait for another world title in F1.
