Charles Leclerc shared his thoughts on Ferrari’s expectations for the Brazilian Grand Prix after a solid qualifying session that put him in a strong position on the grid. While Lewis Hamilton was left disappointed with a 13th-place finish in qualifying, the Ferrari driver had every reason to smile on the eve of a race that could still hold many surprises for the Tifosi. The Interlagos circuit has always been known for its unpredictable and dramatic races, and for that reason, Leclerc is not setting any limits on what might be possible on Sunday.
Charles Leclerc’s comments after qualifying
At the end of Saturday’s action, which saw him secure third position behind Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc reflected on his performance and Ferrari’s progress throughout the weekend. “Given how close the gaps have been this weekend, a tenth of a second was enough to go from a disastrous qualifying to a perfect one,” he explained. “We did everything right. In some areas I relied on my own feeling, and we decided to remove a bit of downforce from the car. Now we just need to analyze the cause of the straight-line problems we experienced, because at the moment we have no explanation. But overall, we did a great job since the qualifying was managed in the best possible way.”
The Monegasque driver also took a moment to celebrate another victory within the Ferrari family, saying: “I want to congratulate the guys from the WEC team for their win. I’ve been in Formula 1 for eight years and I’ve never managed to get a podium in Brazil. I really hope that changes this weekend. And if they leave me space at Turn 1, I’ll go for it.” – the 28-year-old driver concluded.
