The 2025 Italian Grand Prix at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza offered fans more than just high-speed modern Formula 1 racing. Among the highlights was a spectacular exhibition of historic racing cars organized by Officina Caira, showcasing some of the most treasured F1 machines in history.
Two Ferrari legends stole the show: the Ferrari 312 B and the Ferrari 412 T2. The Ferrari 312 B, driven by the legendary Jacky Ickx 55 years ago during his F1 world championship campaign, roared once again on the Monza tarmac, reminding fans of its historic significance and timeless design. Its distinctive flat-12 engine and revolutionary engineering made it an icon of its era.
Meanwhile, the Ferrari 412 T2, the last V12-powered Ferrari F1 car, returned to the track under the guidance of former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi, who famously won the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix with this very car. The powerful V12 engine and classic Ferrari design captivated fans, showcasing the raw sound and driving spirit that modern F1 can only hint at.
The exhibition also featured other rare machines, including a 2010 McLaren MP4/25A formerly driven by Jenson Button and a highly unusual Token RJ02 from the 1974 season, but it was the two Ferrari cars that truly captured the imagination of the crowd.
This historic showcase reminded fans of Ferrari’s long and storied F1 legacy, celebrating the engineering brilliance, driving skill, and timeless allure that continue to define the Prancing Horse.
