According to Roberto Boccafogli, the season’s start had been surprising, as Ferrari had initially set high expectations following Lewis Hamilton’s first public appearance in Maranello. Despite early optimism, Australia proved disappointing, as McLaren’s pace demonstrated a significant gap between Ferrari and the frontrunners.
However, in China, things suddenly appeared more promising, with Ferrari seemingly finding solutions that allowed Hamilton to secure an unexpected Sprint Race victory. The Italian journalist noted that the response from the Italian media and the Tifosi was remarkable, drawing parallels to Schumacher’s golden era. He described how the admiration for Hamilton mirrored the immense affection previously reserved for Schumacher, highlighting that while Charles Leclerc remains deeply cherished, Hamilton’s seven world titles naturally command a different level of respect and expectation.
