Ferrari’s drivers are determined to finish the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season on a high at Monza, with Alessandro Pier Guidi hoping to celebrate victory in front of the Italian fans despite a difficult title defence. Ahead of qualifying for the WEC season finale, Davide Rigon, Alessio Rovera and Alessandro Pier Guidi have shared their expectations for the home race, highlighting the special atmosphere, the challenging weather conditions and their determination to deliver a strong result for Ferrari.
All three drivers represent AF Corse, although they compete in different categories. Davide Rigon and Alessio Rovera race the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo, while reigning world champion Alessandro Pier Guidi drives the Ferrari 499P Hypercar. With Monza hosting the final round of the championship, the Italian manufacturer has another opportunity to reward its supporters with a memorable performance on home soil.
Ferrari drivers thank Italian fans ahead of WEC Monza finale
Davide Rigon was particularly enthusiastic about the support Ferrari has received at Monza, emphasising how much it means to compete in front of a large Italian crowd, even with the colder November temperatures.
“Thank you to all the fans for being here, truly. There are so many of you, and we’re proud to have you with us, even though it’s cold. It motivates us enormously. Having a second race in Italy for Ferrari and for us is something unique and fantastic. We thank the WEC for giving us this opportunity, and forza Ferrari!” Davide Rigon declared.
His comments underline the importance of the event for Ferrari, whose endurance racing programme has another chance to compete in front of its passionate home supporters.
The Monza finale also comes at the end of an eventful campaign for the Italian manufacturer, with Ferrari endurance racing chief Antonello Coletta acknowledging missed opportunities during the 2026 WEC season and the challenges facing the team ahead of next year.
Alessio Rovera expects weather to play a key role at Monza
Alessio Rovera expressed similar enthusiasm about returning to Monza, although he acknowledged that the weather could become an important factor during the weekend.
The Italian driver last competed at the circuit in 2023, when conditions were considerably different from those expected for the November season finale.
“I’m really happy to be able to race here. The last time was in 2023, with very different conditions compared to now. We know what November weather is like in Brianza, but all of this is still fascinating. We hope to have a good race for ourselves and for the fans, trying to bring home a good result,” Alessio Rovera explained.
The prospect of difficult weather adds another challenge for the Ferrari crews as they prepare for the final race of the season. With qualifying still to come, the drivers will need to adapt to the conditions while attempting to maximise their performance.
Ferrari’s preparations for the event have already highlighted the importance of managing changing track conditions, with rain-affected practice at Monza creating uncertainty about the competitive order.
Alessandro Pier Guidi hopes to end difficult Ferrari WEC season with victory
For Alessandro Pier Guidi, the Monza finale carries particular significance. The reigning world champion arrived at the season with ambitions of defending his title, but Ferrari’s campaign has proved more complicated than hoped.
With another world championship no longer possible this year, the Italian driver is concentrating on finishing the season with a victory in front of the home crowd.
“We had hoped to arrive here still able to fight for the championship, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. It’s been a complicated year, and we’ll try again next season. In the meantime, we hope we can take a victory in front of all of you,” Alessandro Pier Guidi concluded.
His comments reflect both the disappointment of an unsuccessful title defence and the motivation to end the campaign on a positive note.
Although the championship objective is now out of reach, a victory at Monza would provide Ferrari with an encouraging conclusion to its WEC season and a memorable result for its Italian supporters.
With Davide Rigon and Alessio Rovera representing Ferrari in LMGT3 and Alessandro Pier Guidi competing in Hypercar, the Scuderia’s endurance drivers share the ambition of delivering a strong performance at home.
The focus now turns to qualifying and the final race, with the 2026 WEC Monza weekend schedule setting out the remaining sessions before the championship reaches its conclusion.
For Ferrari, the goal is clear: make the most of its final opportunity of the season and give the Italian fans something to celebrate at Monza.
