Over the years, Lewis Hamilton’s name has often been linked to Scuderia Ferrari. Yet, the British driver has consistently expressed his full confidence in the Mercedes team, with whom he has extended his contract until 2025.
The love story began in 2012 when Lewis Hamilton joined the Silver Arrows, filling the void left by Michael Schumacher. In that year, the German announced his retirement from Formula 1.
Not only Ferrari: Lewis Hamilton’s name has also been associated with Red Bull. John Elkann! Chatting with the media, Lewis Hamilton mentioned knowing him very well. Their first meeting took place at a Google camp! “We met years ago at a Google camp in Sicily. Our friendship started from there, and we have always stayed in touch.”
Lewis Hamilton also knows another personality from the Ferrari team very well. “I’ve known Fred Vasseur since 2005,” he said in a recent interview. “We have always had a great relationship, and we often keep in touch, especially because he has been in Formula 1 for most of the time,” he continued.

“We were constantly talking, obviously when I was in his team. When I entered F1, I had less contact with the Formula 2 series. Since he came back, we have met here, and we have traveled together with Toto. That’s really the best.” – the Mercedes driver concluded.
