Adam Driver plays Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s biopic, set to be released in Italian theaters on December 14, 2023. After the premiere at the Venice Film Festival, the cast and director promoted the film in various European countries.
It was during one of these events that Adam Driver literally lost his temper. As a guest at the Camerimage Film Festival in Poland, the actor responded vividly to a question from the audience seeking explanations about some action scenes seen in Ferrari.
As we know, the film tells about a particular year in the life of Il Drake. In the summer of 1957, Enzo Ferrari’s business is on the brink of bankruptcy. This is compounded by the marital crisis with his wife Laura, while he secretly lives with his lover Lina and the illegitimate son Piero. The Mille Miglia will be the occasion to redeem Enzo Ferrari’s private and professional life.
The focal point of the film is undoubtedly the thrilling action scenes, especially the disastrous accident at the Mille Miglia, which, however, doesn’t seem convincing to some.
At the Polish festival, someone from the audience asked Adam Driver what he thought about it: “What do you think of the accident scenes? They seemed quite strong, drastic, and, I must say, poor to me.”
The actor’s response was eloquent: “F**k you, I don’t know!. Next question.” The audience in the room chuckled in the background in response to the Hollywood star’s abrupt reaction.
