The premiere of “F1”
After the Montreal race, many key figures from the top category of motorsport (in fact, nearly all of them) headed to New York for the world premiere of the film “F1.” A long red carpet stretched between skyscrapers, with F1 cars from the championship parked along the sides: Liberty Media spared no effort in promoting the film, which aims to engage new segments of the audience.
The Vasseur show
Despite the difficult moment Ferrari is experiencing on track, team principal Frédéric Vasseur displayed his usual good spirits, joking with drivers and fellow team principals and cracking jokes during interviews.
It all started in the group photo taken right after landing at the airport: Fred Vasseur quickly crouched behind the giant airline ticket, as if to hide and tease the photographers. The F1 account on X didn’t miss this detail.
But that wasn’t all—Fred Vasseur, in off-camera voice mode, playfully teased Charles Leclerc, who was posing for photographers with his girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux: “Smile a bit, it’s not a prison!” prompting a shy smile from the Monegasque driver (click here for video)
Later on, Fred Vasseur hid behind the production assistants and directed the boom microphone at an unsuspecting Christian Horner, who smiled and waved him away. Again, F1’s social media manager appreciated the moment: “Never change, Fred! 🤣” (click here for video)
Finally, during an interview with Canal Plus focused on the F1 film, the interviewer asked Fred Vasseur if he felt ready for an acting career. The Ferrari team principal replied instantly: “Well yes, since I’m looking for a job!”—a joke clearly aimed at recent media rumors, delivered with a big laugh.
