Ferrari is showing strong recovery, and the SF-25 will have chances to win this year in Formula 1: here’s where Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton can make the difference
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton already have the potential to secure victories in the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Ferrari SF-25 has been showing significant improvement, and the Maranello duo will have multiple opportunities to capitalize on the car’s renewed competitiveness. While the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort may still favor the McLaren team due to the track’s characteristics, several upcoming races are far better suited to the strengths of the Scuderia’s car. Ferrari fans traveling to Monza, in particular, could be in for an exciting surprise.
As noted on several occasions, this Ferrari, following recent upgrades and the introduction of the new rear suspension, is capable of performing at a high level. It is true that the team is already behind the Woking-based McLaren team, who are on track for their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship. However, the Scuderia from Maranello can still keep Red Bull and Mercedes at bay and, on certain circuits, even challenge the two McLaren cars at the front.
Charles Leclerc’s form continues to be excellent. The Monegasque driver came very close to victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix and will be eager to make amends during the second half of the season. Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, is the only remaining uncertainty for Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur. The seven-time world champion, however, may have regained focus and calm during the summer break, and he still has plenty to give to Ferrari fans in the races ahead, as reported by f1ingenerale.
Monza, Singapore, Las Vegas: the tracks where Ferrari can fight for victory
An interesting perspective on the remainder of the season came from the F1 Nation podcast, where former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer discussed Ferrari’s prospects: “After Canada, I let myself get carried away and thought they would win a race. And I stand by what I said! There will be tracks that suit Ferrari very well.”
“[In Budapest] they showed an aggressive approach to performance and managed to secure pole position on a circuit that isn’t exactly their favorite. I don’t think Zandvoort will be particularly favorable for Ferrari, but I see Monza and Singapore as much better opportunities, thanks to the low-speed corners. Since introducing the updates to the suspension and floor, the team has been improving. You can see that performance is finally coming together.”
Alex Jacques shared a similar view: “I think there are races where Ferrari could fight at the front again. They will be competitive in Las Vegas. In Singapore, the car needs a higher ride height. Anywhere that requires raising the car, Ferrari could be back in contention. That’s the peculiarity of this car! They know it is effective, but they can’t run it close enough to the asphalt, which is unusual. At Monza, however, it always performs very well.”
