Ferrari president John Elkann presents Pope Leo XIV with Charles Leclerc’s F1 steering wheel. Ferrari and Stellantis president John Elkann met Pope Leo XIV in a private audience at the Vatican.

The first meeting

On Friday, September 26, a private audience took place between Pope Leo XIV, John Elkann, and his wife Lavinia Borromeo. Scheduled in the morning agenda of the Holy Father, the meeting was held inside the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican.

The president of Ferrari and Stellantis presented the Pope with a scale model of the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale, as well as a Ferrari steering wheel used by Charles Leclerc in a Formula 1 Grand Prix. According to a note, “the meeting was an opportunity for mutual understanding, sharing, and discussion on issues of interest to the Holy Father.”
