The upcoming 2024 Formula One championship is fast approaching, and the teams are gearing up for pre-season testing session at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain, which will take place in late February. This important period allows teams to log valuable mileage with their new cars, setting the stage for the challenges ahead. Among the teams preparing for the 2024 F1 campaign, Scuderia Ferrari has officially announced its presentation date.
Ferrari’s unveiling event for the ‘676 project’ is scheduled one day ahead of Mercedes and McLaren, taking place at Fiorano. The debut of the Ferrari 676 will unfold on February 13th, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s car for the upcoming season taking center stage in Maranello. The presentation promises to be clean and contained, aligning with Ferrari’s low-profile approach this winter.
As the management, technicians, and drivers eagerly await the track debut in Bahrain, Ferrari remains cautious not to set unrealistic expectations based on simulator sessions. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, fresh from their holidays, have already dived into preparation work in the simulator with the new car.
The SF-23’s evolution or revolution will make its first appearance at Fiorano, Ferrari’s private track situated behind the Ferrari Racing Division. Despite the anticipation surrounding the 2024 F1 project, it is expected to feature some elements from the previous year’s car, a point emphasized by Frederic Vasseur and Enrico Cardile in their recent comments.
While the new car will be 95% different from its predecessor, it represents a robust evolution of the concepts developed in 2023, pushing beyond the structural constraints of the SF-23. Notable changes include revisions to the chassis, with the anti-intrusion cone shifting lower, and the front adopting inspiration from the Red Bull philosophy for a more pronounced anti-dive effect in both the front wing and suspension geometry.

The sidepods will adopt a downwash concept with a broader undercut, building upon the base introduced last year at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelina without converging towards the solutions used by other teams, such as McLaren and Aston Martin. A significant portion of Ferrari’s development under the guidance of Enrico Cardile has been concentrated on enhancing the rear axle. As the Maranello team remains on schedule with the 2024 Formula One project, the Italian side anticipates a promising season with these strategic enhancements.
