Video: Charles Leclerc drives his new Ferrari in scale

Charles Leclerc can’t stay away from Ferrari cars; here he is behind the wheel of a different one than he races with

The Monegasque driver doesn’t hide his love for Ferrari even when not involved in the Formula 1 World Championship. After his training session for the 2024 season, Leclerc is now seen driving a Ferrari different from the one in the championship.

The Monegasque driver can’t keep himself away from engines, and every opportunity becomes golden when it comes to getting behind the wheel of a model from the Maranello stable. However, what he recently drove is not a Formula 1 championship car. We’re not even talking about his brand-new 812 Competizione Aperta, captured on the streets of Monaco a few weeks ago. The road range model has been added to Leclerc’s already extensive collection, which also includes the iconic matte black 488 Pista Spider. This model is even more recognizable with a decal featuring the principality’s flag running along the entire body.

However, the models we’ve talked about are almost the norm for Leclerc during Formula 1 breaks. In fact, what we want to tell you about is a decidedly special model, historical, and slightly reduced in size. In some videos that have appeared on social media, Charles Leclerc is seen driving a scaled-down version of the Maranello house. The car in question is a reproduction of a model from the 50s, 60s, complete with the typical red, white, and blue livery of those years. In all likelihood, the car Charles Leclerc is driving takes inspiration from the cars involved in the Mille Miglia, specifically the one from 1957, as indicated by the license plate.

What is quite unique for this car is the sound, which fairly faithfully replicates that of cars from those years. The sound that is unlikely to come from a thermal engine under the hood, while the use of speakers is more probable. In the two videos, Charles Leclerc seems comfortable, hand on the steering wheel in reverse, saying, “I’m in a bit of a hurry.”
