In Austria, new updates debut on the Ferrari SF-25 in F1, but the work of Lewis Hamilton, Fred Vasseur and Loic Serra is already focused on the future.
Behind-the-scenes developments at Ferrari reveal not only new updates in F1 but also the growing synergy between Lewis Hamilton, Frédéric Vasseur and Loïc Serra. The Maranello-based team is preparing for another key round of the championship, bringing a revised floor to the challenging Austrian circuit. The goal is to return to podium contention and immediately bounce back from the disappointment in Canada. However, the future is already calling for the Prancing Horse.
Formula 1 heads to Austria as the intense European leg of the season kicks off. This is the heart of the calendar, the decisive moment to determine who will stay in the title fight and who will shift focus to 2026. Ferrari is not giving up yet. As Charles Leclerc confirmed, new upgrade packages are scheduled until the end of the championship as part of a pre-established development plan.
On the other side of the garage, Lewis Hamilton remains focused. The new floor shows promise, but it’s still too early to draw conclusions. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion is committed to shaping his project with Maranello, despite a challenging start to the season.
Lewis Hamilton cautious about Ferrari’s new floor
Speaking to journalists in Austria, including ScuderiaFans.com reporters, Lewis Hamilton was clear: “First of all, I’m happy to have upgrades. It’s always exciting to get new components to test. I’m really grateful to everyone who worked so hard to develop them.” – he pointed out.
“However, we can’t yet know what effect they will have. We know how much downforce we might be able to extract, but it’s still too early to get a clear picture. We hope this is a significant step in the right direction, but I’m not expecting dramatic changes.”
Adapting to the car and working closely with Fred Vasseur and Loic Serra
Lewis Hamilton continues his adaptation to the SF-25: “I’ve already said a lot about the things we need to improve, and I don’t really want to go into more detail. I don’t want to make excuses—we’ve had issues from both the driver and car side. The positive is that we’re making progress. The most important thing is that we’re moving forward as a team.” – the seven-time Formula 1 world champion added.
“We performed better in Canada, especially in qualifying, then I had that problem during the race. A lot has happened in the last few weekends, whether it’s been my mistakes, car problems, or team errors. We’re giving our best at every Grand Prix. Behind the scenes, I’m working closely with Fred [Vasseur] and the team to implement improvements that will lead us to success in the long term. I’m also working with Loïc [Serra] and the whole team on the front and rear suspension, addressing understeer and learning from past setups to make sure next season is our best ever. That’s my main goal.” – the Briton concluded.
