The FIA finally brings clarity to the entire penalty system for on-track incidents and gathers all the rules into one important document.
What drivers and fans have been requesting for years has finally arrived. The FIA has published a crucial document that outlines the OFFICIAL rules for all penalties that can be applied in different situations during Formula 1 Grands Prix. Below, we break down all the possible cases.
The International Federation has often been criticized by drivers. On many occasions, the same infraction has resulted in very different penalties for different drivers—or, in the worst cases, no investigation at all. For years, there have been widespread calls for more transparency and consistency in stewarding decisions.
That day is today. As announced on the FIA’s social media channels and now available on their official website: “The document compiling all the penalty guidelines was created to assist stewards in making fair and consistent judgments in the application of regulations.” Here are all the penalties in detail.
