Ferrari Team boss Frederic Vasseur swiftly dismissed a question regarding Lewis Hamilton after the latest round of the 2024 Formula 1 championship, the Japanese Grand Prix, which was held last weekend at the 5.807-kilometre Suzuka International Racing Course.
One of the most significant topics of the year has been Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes at the end of the season and join Scuderia Ferrari starting with the 2025 Formula 1 campaign.
This move has been widely discussed leading up to the current season and has been labeled as one of the most significant driver transfers in Formula 1 history.
After the race in Suzuka last weekend, Lewis Hamilton showed his displeasure with a question directed at him, asking if he was “looking forward to being with Ferrari next year because they’re faster,” which led the seven-time world champion to walk away from the post-race session.
Shortly thereafter, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur also took exception to a question regarding his driver for the following year. The Maranello team achieved its fifth podium of the year in the Japanese Grand Prix with Carlos Sainz, who has reached the podium in every race he has participated in so far this season. The Spaniard is enjoying his final season with the Italian team ahead of Lewis Hamilton‘s arrival in red next year.
During Carlos Sainz’s streak to his third podium in three races, a reporter began their question to the French manager with reference to an “alternative reality where you hadn’t already signed Lewis Hamilton for 2025” – however, Fred Vasseur promptly interrupted them:
“We have the same question each weekend. Do a copy-paste of my reply of last week, next one.” – the Ferrari team boss quickly replied.
