It’s already time to return to the track at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. At 17:00, Free Practice 2 begins, one of the most important sessions of the weekend. After the work done at midday, the teams will try to fine-tune their cars ahead of tomorrow. The session starts from the strong performance shown by McLaren, which looked very comfortable on the Italian track.

Italy, the first stop in a fully European triple-header—which also includes Monaco and Barcelona—will be a key turning point in the championship. Should Oscar Piastri come out on top again, the Woking-based team may have to deal with a complicated number-one driver situation. Betting on the Australian, if rivals start closing the gap, could become necessary.

Imola GP, what weather will we find during Free Practice 2?
On the eve of the Imola weekend, there were fears that rain might hit the circuit. However, the forecasted overnight storm spared both fans and paddock staff during the first Free Practice session. The same will be true for the afternoon: we can expect a sunny FP2, perfect for all teams to carry out their work programs.

What happened in Free Practice 1 at the Imola GP
McLaren completely dominated the first Free Practice session. Even though the gaps in qualifying simulations were still tight, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris locked out the top two spots. Behind them came the Williams of Carlos Sainz, followed by George Russell and the first of the two Ferraris, driven by Lewis Hamilton.
