Despite the newly hired technicians by the Prancing Horse being operational only in the coming years, Scuderia Ferrari’s team principal, Frederic Vasseur, doesn’t believe this means they won’t be competitive for wins until 2025. On the contrary, the French manager considers it crucial to optimize results with the current staff and improve Maranello’s working philosophy as much as possible in preparation for the next season, which must inevitably redeem a disappointing 2023 Formula One season.
For Fred Vasseur, it’s possible to compete for victories even before the arrival of new technicians in 2025.
“All processes in Formula 1 are quite long,” Fred Vasseur told the Italian media when asked how long fans will have to wait before seeing the red car back on the top step of the podium.” – “When you want to work with new people, you have to wait two or three years to see results because they join the company late. I’ve never said I won’t accept having to wait for these technicians to see improvement, because I also have confidence in the people we have in the team.” – the French manager added.
“We need to get better. But we can do a better job and try to focus on getting the best out of what we have. That’s the next challenge. I’m sure there’s a lot of room for improvement with the current situation.”
Despite the very challenging period, Fred Vasseur continues to preach calm, relying on the current workforce to extract the best from the car and maximize results. Even though many individuals will arrive between next year and 2025, it will be crucial to improve right now, in order to be ready when the car is finally competitive for victory:

“I don’t want to postpone any objectives because it would be a wrong message, a wrong motivation,” continues the team principal of the Prancing Horse. It’s an ongoing process. Just because we’ll have new people doesn’t mean we’ll completely change the team’s philosophy and potential. There’s no before and after. Even when these people join the team, we will continue to have the same approach and the same desire to develop and improve.” – the Ferrari team principal concluded.
