Dino Beganovic returns behind the wheel of the Ferrari: he will drive the SF-25 at the Austrian GP, taking Charles Leclerc’s place in the first practice session at the Red Bull Ring
Ferrari has officially announced that Dino Beganovic will once again drive the SF-25 during the Formula 1 Austrian GP, replacing Charles Leclerc. The Swedish driver, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, will participate in the first free practice session, taking over from Charles Leclerc.
For Dino Beganovic, currently competing in Formula 2 with the Prema team, this will be his second FP1 appearance in his career, following his debut at the Bahrain GP, where he drove the car normally assigned to Lewis Hamilton.

With this outing at the Red Bull Ring, Ferrari will have completed half of the four mandatory sessions dedicated to rookie drivers during the season, as required by FIA regulations. The Scuderia’s goal is to offer direct experience to young talents from their academy with a view to the future.
Born in 2004, Dino Beganovic joined Maranello’s junior program in 2020 and competed in two consecutive FIA Formula 3 seasons, finishing sixth in the standings both times. In 2024, he moved up to F2 and currently holds tenth place in the drivers’ ranking.
Ferrari’s announcement marks the first confirmed driver change for the FP1 session of the Austrian weekend, but it is likely that other teams will also rely on their young drivers to meet regulatory obligations.
For Dino Beganovic, this will be another chance to showcase himself in front of team leaders and paddock insiders, in the technical and competitive environment of Formula 1.
