For now, no Formula 1 team has officially announced the date for their car launch, but we can expect that most of them will do so in the week leading up to the opening day of the first pre-season testing session. Several teams will probably chose to go for only computer renderings of their car at first and reveal the real thing when it rolls out of the garage for the first time that morning.
Preseason testing
First test — Barcelona, Spain — Feb. 23-25
Second test — Sakhir, Bahrain — March 10-12
Ahead of the 2022 Formula One championship, there will be six days of testing, which have been split across two different periods and locations. Testing begins with three days at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya, host of the Spanish Grand Prix, and will then continue at Bahrain’s Sakhir International Circuit, which will later host the first race of the 2022 Formula 1 season, scheduled for March 20, in what is expected to be the biggest championship ever in F1
Testing often provides a solid picture of what the competitive order looks like, especially in the first part of a campaign. And this year it will be more crucial than ever, given the fact that any reliability problems likely to be hugely costly due to the limited time on offer for all the teams to understand their new projects.
Unfortunately, at the end of February we will have to rely on official F1 photographers to see the first on track pictures of the new cars, as the pre-season tests in Barcelona will take place without public, it has been confirmed:
