In this second part of his interview for Gazzetta dello Sport, Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc talks about some off-track topics, including hobbies and favourite activities:
Have you ever heard from Sebastian Vettel after his retirement?
Charles Leclerc: “He sent me a message on my phone saying that he was at home, listening to my music and enjoying it. I thanked him. But apart from that, we haven’t spoken.”
What was it like meeting Brad Pitt? Will you be acting in his upcoming film about F1, as Hamilton seems to be doing?
Charles Leclerc: “They haven’t told me anything… but it was nice to meet him. We took a ride together in a car at the Austin circuit, and he seemed enthusiastic. He was preparing ideas for the film. I think it will be a truly realistic Formula 1 movie, something never seen before.”
Who are your favorite actors? Long pause.
Charles Leclerc: “There are many, actually. But as a child, I was crazy about Harry Potter. I always liked Daniel Radcliffe in that role as the wizard. He made a whole generation of kids dream. So I choose him.”
And which athletes from other sports do you admire the most or have you met and liked?
Charles Leclerc: “I like Rafa Nadal for what he has achieved in tennis and for remaining a down-to-earth person. I only had a brief encounter with him, but it was enough to understand. Then I’m friends with Fabio Quartararo and Valentino Rossi.”

Who are the historical, political, or artistic figures that fascinate you the most?
Charles Leclerc: “I think of music as an art form. I admire composers like Ludovico Einaudi and Hans Zimmer, and I also appreciate the paintings of Basquiat.”
Pizza is your favorite food, but which pizza?
Charles Leclerc: “Margherita with prosciutto.”
Are you composing any other musical pieces?
Charles Leclerc: “I play whenever I’m at home in Monte Carlo. Three days ago, I sat down at the piano and came up with something I liked. That’s how my songs always come to life. I can read sheet music, but I’m really slow at it, so I never do. Instead, I let the notes guide me. I keep playing for two or three hours straight, improvising, and if I’m satisfied with the result, I release it on online platforms.”
Have you ever thought about collaborating with any artists you know, like Fedez or Maneskin?
Charles Leclerc: “My music is melancholic, and their style is completely different, although I adore them. So I find it difficult to envision a collaboration. Perhaps with other artists closer to the piano. I already have several proposals…”
This year, Ferrari is returning to Le Mans to win. Would you like to race in the 24 Hours or the Indianapolis 500?
Charles Leclerc: “I’m more drawn to Le Mans than the Indianapolis 500 because I’ve always liked the aesthetics of prototypes, even as a child, and now Ferrari is there with an official car. I hope that one day it can become a reality for me to race there.”
Would you have liked to race during the time of Enzo Ferrari, Gilles Villeneuve, or Ayrton Senna?
Charles Leclerc: “I think so, because back then, only what happened on the track mattered, without all the other activities that drain energy from the drivers. The Formula 1 paddock should have been similar to what I experienced when I started racing in go-karts, where you put on your helmet and simply raced. Additionally, it would have been incredible to know three legends like them.”
