Ferrari’s Nightmare Start
Charles Leclerc had been rather tight-lipped in his winter statements but had not hidden that a team like Ferrari could not aim for the Formula 1 world title. And it couldn’t be any other way for a talent who has reached his peak competitive maturity (27 years old) and realizes that he has been with Scuderia Ferrari for seven years without ever truly fighting for the Drivers’ Championship.
Charles Leclerc surely didn’t expect to collect just 8 points in the first two races, with an eighth-place finish in Melbourne, a fifth in the Shanghai Sprint, and a disqualification from the China race (also finished in fifth). The team in Maranello is working to bring a better car to the track for the Japanese Grand Prix on April 6th, aiming to turn things around after this strange start to the season.
Charles Leclerc speaks on social media
With a post on his Instagram page, Charles Leclerc wanted to rally Ferrari and thank the fans, who never fail to encourage him: “Last weekend was really tough. We need to reset and work hard to turn things around in Japan, and I’m sure we’ll make it.
A big thank you anyway for all the support you gave me throughout the weekend, I’m always amazed to receive such support in China, and it means a lot ❤️.”
