After an explosive start to the season, F1 pauses for a week before hitting the track at Suzuka for the third race of the 2025 season. Here’s the full TV schedule for the 2025 Japanese GP, including Sky Sport F1/Now, along with some useful tips to prepare for the upcoming Formula 1 weekend.
What is the ideal setup for Suzuka?
The Japanese circuit is one of the last traditional tracks, featuring limited run-off areas and mandatory racing lines in several sections. It also offers an exciting sequence of corners, including the iconic uphill double ‘S’ after Turn 1 and the legendary 130R, which has always been a challenge for F1 cars.
To complete a lap at Suzuka, drivers must tackle 18 corners, 10 of which require braking. The “Honda playground” is demanding on brakes, with each driver using them for a total of 11 and a half minutes from lights out to the checkered flag.
The wide variety of corners makes choosing the optimal setup extremely challenging. Teams typically opt for a medium downforce setup to maintain good grip in the many fast corners without overly compromising top speed on the straights.
