Impressed by a Scuderia Ferrari fan and his emotional story, Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc wanted to help him and agreed to go on an Italian TV show in order to surprise a “beautiful person” and give him a few great gifts.
The Ferrari man is hard at work getting ready for the 2023 Formula One championship, with the hope of challenging Red Bull and Mercedes for the title next season, which begins in less than two months with the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, the Monegasque still found the time to visit Italian presenter Maria De Filippi and join her at the C’è posta per Te TV show (“You’ve Got Mail”).
Maria De Filippi asked Charles Leclerc to appear on the TV show at the request of 23-year-old Eleonora, who unfortunately suffers from multiple sclerosis, which is an incurable disease, a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms.
Eleonora has been helped full-time by her boyfriend Giulio during the last few years, since her condition got worse. The 25-year-old decided to move to northern Italy to be with Eleonora, far away from his family. She recounted several touching stories, including one story of the day her boyfriend had to give her injections when their car broke down at the roadside.
Giulio is a huge Formula 1 fan and at lights out on Grand Prix weekends, it is Scuderia Ferrari and Charles Leclerc that Giulio cheers for. And that is where the Ferrari man comes in. Charles Leclerc arrived on set after a brief intro to greet a stunned Giulio, who of course could hardly contain his emotion.

“You’re a great guy. Mamma mia what a history you have, we are about the same age but normally people would think otherwise. Choices like that have never come to me. That shows the beautiful person you are and the beautiful couple you are. Love is powerful. Everything you have done for Eleanor, at a time that was not easy for the two of you, is incredible. I know what it’s like to be away from home because I travel so much, but doing it out of love makes you realise the beautiful person you are. I know you watch a lot of Grand Prix and make Eleonora a little bit angry on Sundays. The admiration you have for Ferrari and for me I know, but my admiration is greater for you because of the values you have. I am moved by this beautiful story. You deserve all the happiness in the world. Having said that, I came with surprises.” – Charles Leclerc said, in an emotional tribute.
Charles Leclerc brought the racing gloves he used in the F1-75 car for the second part of the previous championship, complete with his signature. He also gifted Giulio Ferrari T-shirts and caps for the fan to wear while cheering on the Maranello team in Formula 1. And that wasn’t all.
“I know one of your dreams was to go to Disneyland Paris, I got you two tickets to go together and also round-trip tickets to go home,” the Monegasque said. “Thank you for everything.” – Charles Leclerc added.
It’s a an incredible show of generosity from Charles Leclerc, who has just completed a special training camp in the Dolomites of northern Italy as he prepares for the 2023 Formula One campaign.
