Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel won the 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix for the third time in his career as he held off a late charge from Lewis Hamilton. The Maranello team’s driver had moved to the front during the first round of pit stops, and he controlled the race from there on to pick up his second win of the season and move seven points clear of Hamilton at the top of the standings after the pair had gone into the race level.
Hamilton finished ahead of Mercedes-GP teammate Valtteri Bottas, who had started on pole, while the second Ferrari of Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen was fourth after recovering from a slow start.
