The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix got off to a chaotic start as a replay revealed unexpected contact between the two Ferrari drivers. Charles Leclerc’s front-left wing made contact with the rear of teammate Lewis Hamilton’s car, causing visible damage the Monegasque driver’s front wing.
While it remains unclear whether Lewis Hamilton sustained any issues from the incident, Ferrari quickly informed Charles Leclerc over the radio that he had suffered a “20 to 30 points” loss in downforce. Despite the setback, the Ferrari driver assured the team he could manage until the first pit stop, where a front wing change is expected.
With 56 laps in the race, the Italian side will be hoping this early moment doesn’t compromise their overall strategy.
