The Ferrari Driver Academy program continues with new members. For the 2023 season, there will be a total of eight talents who will race with the Prancing Horse logo on their chest: six confirmed from last year and two new additions. Today in Maranello there was the preparatory meeting for the start of the season in which seven of the eight drivers of the team will make their debut in the new category.
Welcoming the talents from the FDA were Ferrari’s new Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur and Racing Director, Laurent Mekies, as well as FDA Director, Marco Matassa. Maya Weug was not present, as she was engaged with Davos in the Equality Lounge of the association The Female Quotient to discuss the matter of “Driving Equality Forward with the Women Leading in Motorsport” (which deals with how women are pursuing the concept of equity within the automotive world).
During this week, at the beginning of the year, the traditional Camp will take place: four days that include lessons in various subjects as well as some psychophysical tests, sports activities and a day of karting on the Franciacorta track together with Tony Kart, Maranello’s historic partner for the program dedicated to young people. During the year, the Ferrari Driver Academy will follow each of the kids in a personalized way, with support, on and off the track, and specific activities also designed according to the degree of experience and the type of category in which they will be involved.

A special welcome goes to newcomers Aurelia Nobels and Tuukka Taponen who represent the product of our scouting strategy. Aurelia enters the FDA from the program organized in collaboration with the FIA, which has already given us some satisfaction with Maya Weug, while Tuukka was the brightest of the guys we brought to Maranello for the third edition of the FDA Scouting World Finals, a event in which the finalists proved to be of a very high level.
