An important clue: the Ferrari F1-75 challenger did not have any cooling problems, just like the two customer single-seaters powered by the 066/7 engine. Last year, for the start of the regulation of single-seaters designed based on the ground effect concept, the Ferrari technicians had preferred to deliberate a system that would not create problems, knowing full well that they would already have to deal with the reduced life of the 6-cylinder turbo.
To stay on the side of safe side, as they say, the Maranello technicians had a radiator mass that turned out to be slightly greater than the actual cooling needs, since even in the hottest Grands Prix of last season there was never any overheating issues for the water and fuel.
This is why on the 675 project, the engineers led by Enrico Cardile proceeded to reduce the radiators in accordance with the actual needs of the engine: and there are a few positive effects for this decision.
The first: a weight reduction has been possible which will allow the 2023 single-seater to go below the minimum limit of 796 kg, to introduce ballast where needed to balance the car’s behaviour.
Second: the reduction of the radiant mass will allow Ferrari to deliberate a slightly narrower side (we are talking about millimeters) to the advantage of less resistance to progress (drag) and, therefore, higher top speeds.

It is possible that under the area of the radiators, which will maintain the same design as last year, the passage of air will increase, perhaps exploiting the slightest further raising of the intake, to increase the flow rate between the sidepods and the upper face of the floor.
The radiators on the 675 will be placed in the same position as last year and will remain angled in the recent tradition of the Maranello team with a sandwich arrangement.
