Support from a great former insider
In Canada, during Friday’s press conference and in other interviews with TV outlets, Frédéric Vasseur launched strong criticism toward “certain media,” which he believes have increased the level of pressure around Scuderia Ferrari — a team already far from calm due to a winless 2025 season so far.
“With journalists like this, you can’t win the championship,” was one of the many provocative statements made by Fred Vasseur, who, after Sunday’s Grand Prix — which ended with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth and sixth — said that Ferrari had failed to extract the full potential and maximize the package available in Montreal.
Stefano Domenicali, the head of Liberty Media, never misses an opportunity to reiterate his support for Frédéric Vasseur, even just out of solidarity, as the Imola-born executive knows all too well what it means to be responsible for Scuderia Ferrari. Stefano Domenicali urged Fred Vasseur not to waste mental energy trying to fight every rumor surrounding the most scrutinized team in the paddock: “This situation is in the nature of the ‘beast,’ if you’ll allow the comparison,” Stefano Domenicali told French sports daily L’Équipe. “Ferrari generates a passion that you can’t grasp until you’re inside. Fred is becoming more aware of that every day, but he must stay the course he has set and let the people around him shield him from that pressure. He should use his time and energy to move forward with his work, not to battle what’s being said. Frédéric Vasseur should be left alone. He’s doing an excellent job. I’ve told him this, and I’ll say it publicly: I believe in him.” – the former Ferrari team boss concluded.
