Silverstone, in addition to F1, there is a film
Not only Formula 1 and supporting categories: this year Silverstone offers something more. On the British circuit, there is an 11th team called “Apex”, which will only appear in cinemas. It is the team featured in the film of the same name, set to be released in late 2024 or early 2025, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Filming has already begun, and this coexistence between Formula 1 and cinema is generating a lot of curiosity from the public.

In the film, Brad Pitt will drive an APXGP, a Formula 2 car designed by Mercedes for filming, which takes place alongside the other 20 B-Roll cars and utilizes 6K micro-camera technology inside the cockpit. The car will be driven on the Silverstone circuit, and to meet all the needs, the production has a pit box available within the pit lane. This garage is located exactly between the Ferrari and Mercedes boxes.

In the official documents that the FIA presents on Thursdays, the traditional paddock layout is provided, appropriately modified with the addition of the box.
Hamilton playing a behind-the-scenes role
Lewis Hamilton is also a co-producer of the film. “We have a really fantastic and diverse cast,” he said in Miami, “Joe’s goal is to make us as integral to this sport as possible. For me, it’s about making it authentic and having all the fans see that authenticity and say, ‘This is credible,’ and have a different perspective on racing than what they might see on TV. At the moment, I’m dedicating a lot of time to helping Joe and the team refine the script. It’s an incredible process, and I’m really enjoying it.”
