British Team Principal of the Red Bull Formula One team Christian Horner admitted that he will be taking all of Red Bull’s competitors seriously in 2022 as Formula 1 is ready to start a completely new era with the introduction of overhauled technical regulations.
Based on the ‘ground effect’ aerodynamic concept, updated bodywork and bigger, 18-inch tyres, the new set of regulations should lead to markedly different cars as compared to those seen in the last few years, with the goal of improving racing by facilitating overtaking.
At the same time, the new Formula 1 championship is going to involve many great drivers with Christian Horner explaining that there are four names in a similar age-bracket to Max Verstappen which could become title contender and offer the Red Bull driver a close battle in 2022 as well as the following seasons. Dutchman a huge fight this year and in the ones.

“Well, I think Formula 1 is in great shape at the moment because there are so many exciting young drivers,” – the Red Bull Racing boss said, as reported by India’s World Is One News – “Max, of course, is only 24, but he’s got a whole generation around him, like Charles Leclerc, George Russell in the Mercedes this year, you have Lando Norris that looks exciting, [there’s] Carlos Sainz. There are many drivers, that are of a similar age, that are going to be there for the next 10 years or so. I think that’s great for the sport, it’s great for the competition and it’s going to be exciting to see how it pans out.” – Christian Horner added.
Indeed, as fans we can be enthusiastic by the prospects of seeing so many strong drivers on the grid, in the hope that the new rules will allow them to have a bigger impact on the overall outcome of races. We have a crop of drivers in the sport in their early to mid-20s that look a fantastically talented bunch. It is now up to Scuderia Ferrari to give Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz a car able to challenge for top places and world titles.
