Charles Leclerc discussed Ferrari’s current struggles in an interview with the Beyond The Grid podcast by Formula 1.
Charles Leclerc’s comments
Here’s the explanation from the Monegasque driver: “We can’t use this as an excuse, but I think that, excluding Red Bull, everyone in the paddock struggles with consistency. Whenever updates are introduced to gain performance, new things are discovered that you might not have expected and that didn’t show up in the simulations.” – the Ferrari driver pointed out.
“It’s not just us [in this situation, ed.], but everyone in the paddock. Yet Red Bull has managed [to avoid this issue, ed.] since the start of these regulations, and they are unique in this, but we can’t make excuses.”
“We need to be the best in the paddock, and we are aware of this, so we must focus on ourselves and strive to become the best team on track. Am I happy with this situation? Obviously not, but I’m not frustrated either. I focus on the present because I believe that whenever you have expectations, you risk being disappointed.” – Charles Leclerc added.
“I’m very motivated to try to change the current situation. Unfortunately, we’ve been saying this as a team for quite some time now, and now we have to do it, but we must focus on the issues we have now and on what needs to be done to improve in the future. When you win, as we did in Monaco, you learn a lot about the car, even trying to understand why you were so fast, but clearly, we’ve seen many unexpected things since we brought in the updates, and we learn a lot from those too. As an athlete and as a team in general, the best thing to do is to focus on yourself and not be swayed emotionally. The important thing is to be analytical and look ahead,” Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc concluded ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend.
Will Ferrari be able to overcome this crisis and find the right path, especially with an eye towards the 2025 Formula 1 championship? We can only wait and see.
