The tennis player, fresh from a victory with the national team in the Davis Cup, 47 years after Italy’s only previous triumph, managed to visit the home of Ferrari for the first time. A desire he had expressed earlier but couldn’t fulfill due to numerous commitments. Now, in the break between the Davis Cup final and the resumption of training in Spain, Jannik Sinner visited Maranello, the Ferrari factory, and enjoyed his debut on the track.
“It was the first time for me,” he said after completing his laps behind the wheel of the SF90 Spider, “It was an incredible emotion. Both with this model and with the Purosangue, I felt wrapped by the car, as if it were an extension of my body. A bit like my racket: just much larger…”.
His connection with Ferrari is reinforced by the recent partnership with Formula 1, crowning his passion for motorsports. “My father and grandfather passed it on to me. I’ve always watched races with them since I was a child. But then, when I started winning in tennis, there was an overlap issue because if you reach the final in a tournament, you play on Sunday, the same day as the Grand Prix. So now I watch them later.”
He also visited the Ferrari Scuderia, where he met Frederic Vasseur along with some technicians and mechanics from the Maranello team.
“Both tennis and racing are considered individual sports because you’re alone on the court or in a single-seater. But for each of us, it’s essential to have a team behind us working in harmony to achieve a goal. The sacrifices of the team members are the same as those who play or drive. You only reach the top together. Alone, you don’t go far.”

The visit to the Maranello factory has stirred various emotions in Jannik Sinner, with the South Tyrolean expressing himself at the end.
“When I’m behind the wheel, the detail that excites me the most is the sound. And the sound of a Ferrari is always something unique. But here in Maranello, what struck me was the attention placed on every detail that makes each Ferrari individual, whether it’s the livery, the seat, or even the finishes. It was also very nice to see the sense of belonging that everyone who works here feels: it almost seems like an honor to be part of a brand that has written the history of a sport. And much more.” – he explained.
