Bearman reassures fans: here are his conditions after the Suzuka crash
Oliver Bearman has spoken again about his condition after the crash that occurred at Suzuka. The British driver hit the barriers after being caught out by the speed difference between himself and Franco Colapinto, who was preparing to attack. Three weeks after the impact, measured at 50G, Ollie Bearman has provided a new update on his health condition.
“Yes, I’m fine, thank you for asking, I really appreciate it,” he told Sportbible. “It was difficult [getting home] because, obviously, after [the crash] I wasn’t moving much. I had some swelling in my knee, but now everything is fine, fortunately it was my right knee, so I didn’t really injure myself.”
Ready for Miami
The Haas driver has already returned to simulator work since last week in preparation for the Miami Grand Prix.
“In fact, I was back driving in the simulator on Wednesday or Thursday, because my brother and I were training for an endurance race over the weekend. It could have been much worse. I’m really, really grateful and I can’t wait to get back to Miami,” he concluded.
Oliver Bearman’s resilience after such a significant impact is a testament to the safety standards of modern Formula 1 machinery and his own physical preparation. As the grid heads to Florida, all eyes will be on the young Briton to see how he bounces back on the streets of Miami. His ability to return to the simulator so quickly suggests that the 50G impact hasn’t dampened his confidence as he continues his debut season at the pinnacle of motorsport.
