F1 | Official – Verstappen at the Nürburgring with the Ferrari GT3: when will be his first race
It is now official: Max Verstappen will compete in his very first race with a Ferrari GT3 at the Nürburgring. The announcement confirms what fans had been waiting for, and the Dutchman is ready to take on the legendary German circuit. Here is when he will be on track.
Fresh from back-to-back victories in Formula 1, the four-time world champion Max Verstappen is set to fly to the Nürburgring to take part in his first endurance event, driving a Ferrari GT3. With just a one-week break before the Singapore Grand Prix, which marks the final phase of the season, Max Verstappen has decided to stay close to racing and the roar of engines rather than taking time off.
After completing his first official weekend in the German NLS championship at the Nürburgring with a detuned GT4 car, Max Verstappen finally obtained the necessary license to move up to the higher category. Almost naturally, the Red Bull Racing driver immediately set benchmark lap times in his class on the famous “Green Hell”, a track he had previously only experienced in the simulator.
According to reports from F1 Insider, Max Verstappen will line up for the Nürburgring 4 Hours on Saturday the 27th. The endurance race will take place on the circuit’s full 20-kilometer layout and is valid for the Barbarossa Trophy. The Dutchman will be driving a Ferrari 296 GT3, fielded by the Emil Frey Racing team.
The race is scheduled to start at 12:00 on Saturday and will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel of the German series. This entry further highlights Verstappen’s growing passion for endurance racing and his determination to debut fully in closed-wheel competition once his Formula 1 career comes to an end. Among his long-term ambitions remains the dream of one day winning the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
