Haas-Ferrari partnership until 2028
The agreement between Haas and Ferrari for the supply of power units continues. The American team has just announced the extension of the agreement with the Maranello team until the end of the 2028 season (the previous was set to expire at the end of the current regulatory cycle).
The contract renewal means that Haas will start the new era of power units in 2026 with Ferrari, ensuring continuity from the past. Changing suppliers, considering the new regulations, would have been a risky operation that only Aston Martin has chosen to undertake (with the switch from Mercedes to Honda), while Red Bull will switch to a “home-made” power unit with the collaboration of Ford.
Ayao Komatsu’s words
“I am excited to extend our relationship with Scuderia Ferrari until 2028,” commented team principal Ayao Komatsu. “As a team, we have always raced with Ferrari power units, and having this stability ahead of the new power unit regulations is a crucial part of our development. The relationship with Scuderia has always been special for us: Ferrari was instrumental in the genesis of the program from the early days and has continued to be a valuable technical partner for us over the last nine seasons. I am pleased that we now have more seasons ahead of us and I thank Fred Vasseur and many others at Scuderia Ferrari for continuing to show confidence in our project. This announcement is just another example of Haas’ long-term ambition: our investments and growth in this sport continue.” – he explained.
The collaboration between Ferrari and Haas has lasted since 2016, from the time the American team took its first steps in the Circus: by the end of 2028, it will be 13 years of supply from the Maranello team.
