A light after years of darkness. The Shanghai event was one of the most affected by the Covid pandemic, remaining off the calendar for several seasons. The Chinese GP returned to the F1 calendar in 2024 and will stay at least until 2030 following the official renewal announcement.
The news was shared via Formula 1’s social media channels and accompanied by statements from Stefano Domenicali. “Our return to China after several years was a fantastic moment for the sport. The support we receive grows year by year,” said the F1 CEO.
“Shanghai is an incredible city, and the track is an important test for our drivers. For this reason, I’m pleased that this partnership will continue for the next five years. I want to thank the organizers for their commitment and passion. I look forward to returning to China next year,” Stefano Domenicali added.
