According to Italian newspaper ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, only the livery (amaranth red) will change on the Ferrari car in Mugello at this week’s Tuscan Grand Prix, the Scuderia’s milestone 1,000th F1 world championship race. Ferrari’ s cars will roll out at Mugello painted in a darker shade of red, the color used by the Scuderia’s cars at its first race, the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix.
However no updates are expected for the race at the Mugello circuit and it seems the Italian side does not intdent to further develop the SF1000: “If you were expecting a new aero package that could improve the performance of the SF1000, it’s time to put hope aside.” – ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ reports.
The restrictions of the regulation allow only a few changes and Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto is looking rather at the 2021 Formula 1 season to use the “tokens” in the view of next year. As a result, the SF1000 car will not change anymore until the end of the season, except for minor details.
On the engine front, Ferrari is already working on a new power unit that will hopefully give the desired results.
