New details are emerging about the health condition of Michael Schumacher, the legendary Formula One driver who was severely injured in a skiing accident in 2013. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion, fondly remembered by Ferrari fans, had recently made headlines again for becoming a grandfather and for donating a signed helmet to charity. Small signs of life that, after twelve years of silence, had given some hope. But according to journalist Craig Scarborough, the truth is different.
“We will never hear about Michael Schumacher again,” the confession of a friend
The Formula 1 legend suffered life-threatening injuries in December 2013 after hitting his head on a rock during a skiing accident in the French Alps. Following the incident, he was placed in a medically induced coma for several months. In 2014, he was transferred to his home on Lake Geneva, where he has remained under continuous medical care, supported closely by a dedicated team of specialists and his wife, Corinna.
Following the accident, Corinna has maintained strict control over Schumacher’s privacy, permitting only a handful of close relatives and trusted friends to see him and be informed about his condition. Reports from last year revealed that the German icon stepped into the public eye for the first time in over a year by attending his daughter Gina-Marie’s wedding at the family estate in Majorca. To safeguard his privacy, attendees were reportedly asked to surrender their mobile phones at the door to avoid any unauthorized photographs.
Craig Scarborough, a renowned Formula One journalist and technical illustrator, interviewed someone very close to Michael Schumacher—a close friend who has stayed in touch with the former driver even after the accident. This is the confession as recounted by the journalist: “I spoke with someone who is very, very close to Michael Schumacher. And they explained to me that we will never hear about him again. All in all, he is in a good place with his health condition.” It therefore seems that the family will continue to maintain maximum privacy regarding Michael Schumacher’s health, with only a few and sporadic updates provided by relatives or people close to the former driver.
