In the dramatic Meribel incident that forever changed Michael Schumacher’s life exactly 10 years ago, we often forget about the person who has taken care of him all this time, namely his wife Corinna.
Born in Germany in 1969, Corinna Betsch, who took the surname Schumacher in 1995, has been (and still is) one of the pillars of Kaiser’s extraordinary success in Formula 1. A woman born with a strong passion for horseback riding, she decided to tie her life to the one who brought fortunes with the prancing horse in the first half of the 2000s.
Ten years after the dramatic Meribel incident, we are more or less aware of Michael’s current life, although the utmost confidentiality surrounds his conditions. How has Corinna’s life changed in the last decade?
Corinna Schumacher’s life today
From day to night, the 54-year-old from Halver has been forced to take control of a family situation that would have brought anyone to their knees, having to juggle caring for her husband and raising their two children, Mick and Gina-Maria.
Ten years later, a new report from BILD has revealed more details about Corinna’s life today and the enormous wealth she suddenly found herself managing: “Corinna is the heart of Michael Schumacher‘s empire. She manages an estate estimated by financial experts at over half a billion euros.”
“Of course, Michael had a small circle of financial and tax consultants, lawyers, and asset managers around him, but he also always listened to Corinna. They always made decisions together.” – BILD pointed out.

In addition to various properties and investments made over the years, the two still own two horse ranches, located respectively in Switzerland and Gordonville, Texas: “Corinna meets this small group of advisors, consisting of four or five people, three or four times a year. In the end, she makes future decisions about sales and new investments. Of course, she is there every day for everything and everyone. Corinna not only manages multimillion-dollar estates but is also one of the most successful reining experts in the world.”
“As the owner of CS ranches in Switzerland and America, she has earned over two million US dollars in prizes with her horses, thus becoming the second owner of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) from Europe.”
While much of Mick’s public life is known, thanks to his Formula 1 stint and the new adventure in WEC in 2024, little is known about the eldest daughter Gina-Maria: “Gina’s daughter is now the youngest member of the Club, with prize money of 1.35 million US dollars. The CS company currently owns 130 broodmares.”
