Home » “Madness”: Jean Alesi criticizes Ferrari’s SF-25 livery for F1 Miami Grand Prix

“Madness”: Jean Alesi criticizes Ferrari’s SF-25 livery for F1 Miami Grand Prix. Jean Alesi criticizes Ferrari’s special blue and white livery for the Miami GP.

Ferrari unveiled in Miami the special livery it will use for the race weekend: fan reactions were immediate, but criticism also came from a former driver.

“My carpenter could’ve done it better for 30 euros”: this is just one of the many sarcastic comments seen on social media about Ferrari’s livery for the Miami GP.

Yesterday, the Prancing Horse team officially revealed the new look of the SF-25 for the weekend in Florida.

New race suits for Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton: the red is gone, they’ll race in white and blue suits. A color scheme chosen to celebrate the first anniversary of the partnership between Ferrari and HP. The Miami GP livery is two-toned, keeping red at the front and switching to blue on the other half.

A design choice met with many doubts and plenty of jokes: “When the HP printer runs out of ink halfway through the job” is one of many comments under Scuderia’s social posts. Others include: “Did they run out of blue paint?”, “Nice Ferrari from Naples”, and some couldn’t help but notice the resemblance with other teams’ designs: “Scuderia Williams Racing Bulls”.

Among them is also a comment from Jean Alesi, who wrote under Ferrari’s post presenting the race suits: “When you are Ferrari and you use blue and white. You drive people mad here with permission.” The sarcastic remark from the former Ferrari driver was met with agreement from other fans who share his sentiment.
Blue Ferrari in Miami: not the first time
Last year too, Ferrari adopted an all-blue look. That one was tied to Ferrari’s connection with American motorsports, in the year marking the 70th anniversary of the brand’s presence overseas. On that occasion, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz wore fully blue suits, removing the red; the color remained only on the SF-24. Blue shades were also added to some car details.
