The Sprint Race format returns for the Miami GP weekend, the same format that gave Lewis Hamilton his first victory with Ferrari in China. A success that was immediately overshadowed by the double disqualification suffered by the Maranello team in the Shanghai race.
Since then, the former Mercedes driver has struggled. Partly due to an SF-25 not at the level of its rivals, number 44 has not managed to match a clearly improving Charles Leclerc in recent weeks.
The gap between the two Ferrari drivers has sparked various controversies surrounding the seven-time world champion. Some even believe Hamilton might consider leaving the Scuderia if the situation doesn’t improve. However, this seems rather unlikely, as the real goal behind the “deal of the century” was to aim more at 2026 than 2025.
Lewis Hamilton dreams with the Sprint Race
Interviewed during the presentation of Ferrari’s new livery, Lewis Hamilton spoke about his expectations for the Miami weekend. “For me, every weekend is something incredible, especially this year. This will be my first time in Miami with Ferrari, so it will be a unique experience anyway. Racing for this incredible and iconic team is fantastic, there is so much passion and it’s great to see the affection of the Tifosi everywhere we go. There are people who used to support me and now support Ferrari, it’s crazy,” said the Briton.
“I’d be happy if I won. If we managed to replicate what we did in the Sprint in China, it would be fantastic. We’ve learned a lot in recent weeks and I can’t wait to see if we’ll be able to achieve better results,” Hamilton concluded.
