Luigi Mazzola commented on the Miami Grand Prix during the Sky Race Anatomy show, focusing particularly on Ferrari’s current situation.
Luigi Mazzola’s comparison
These are the words of the Italian engineer ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend: “I go back in time. In a situation like this [so complicated], once upon a time, the drivers had immense power.” – the former Ferrari team member pointed out.
“I am referring to Prost and Schumacher, mainly. They spoke directly with the highest levels, even going above Montezemolo [CEO]. There was a dialogue that allowed something to happen, to change within the team. Who do these drivers talk to now? [Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton]. A driver like Lewis Hamilton, in a situation like this, cannot just speak to Fred Vasseur, he needs to go further to try to shake things up. The problem is figuring out who that person is [to turn to],” concluded a puzzled Luigi Mazzola.
