In a surprise move, Ferrari is holding its filming day today at the brand-new Madrid circuit, which will host the Spanish Grand Prix from September 11 to 13, 2026.
The event is historic because it marks the first time a Formula 1 car has taken to the track while work is still ongoing to complete the circuit’s infrastructure.
For the occasion, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will share driving duties, covering a maximum of 200 kilometres, which is the FIA’s regulatory limit for promotional filming days.
This test could also provide Ferrari with a valuable advantage ahead of the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix at the new venue.
