LIVE F1 – Japanese GP: Free Practice 3 at Suzuka
A strong McLaren is looking to confirm its pace in the final free practice session of the 2025 Japanese GP. FP3 will give drivers and teams the last 60 minutes of track time before parc fermé comes into effect ahead of Suzuka qualifying. Teams hope to have enough time to complete their planned programs, which were disrupted by multiple red flags during Friday’s FP2. Behind McLaren, the field appears tightly packed, with Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull all in contention.
This is the impression of Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur. The Frenchman expressed optimism after the data gathered by Lewis Hamilton in FP2 but remains cautious. According to the TP, Ferrari is still behind McLaren and battling with Mercedes and Red Bull. Lewis Hamilton, however, appeared more positive. The Briton in red described Friday in Japan as a “great day” for the team. The SF-25 is not yet at the top, “but the foundation is very good.”
