Formula 1 is back on track: follow the live report of Japanese GP qualifying with us. In the first two free practice sessions, it seems clear that McLaren continues to set the pace. Lando Norris was fastest in FP1, while Oscar Piastri dominated FP2 (with his teammate right behind).
Mercedes appears to be the only team able to keep up with the Woking squad, with a Red Bull that is chasing but limping; Ferrari is a “nightmare,” according to Charles Leclerc, although Fred Vasseur seems to find a silver lining after Friday’s free practice sessions.
The start of Japanese GP qualifying is scheduled live for 8:00 AM Central European Summer Time.
