Lewis Hamilton is not concerned about the challenge posed by Charles Leclerc at Ferrari. The seven-time world champion points out that Leclerc has been part of the Scuderia since 2019, following a season of development with Sauber. With seven years of experience, Leclerc has become a seasoned expert in the Ferrari environment.
Despite the difficult season, Lewis Hamilton remains focused. During the Qatar Grand Prix press conference, the British driver admitted he has been concentrating on his own performance rather than comparing himself with his teammate. Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, enjoys unmatched experience within Ferrari, having developed a finely tuned relationship with his long-standing team.
Lewis Hamilton’s mood on Thursday at Lusail reflected the frustrations of a challenging season. With only a Sprint Race and two Grand Prix rounds remaining, it is hard to imagine a complete turnaround. Nevertheless, Hamilton intends to give his best, both for his fans and for his team, consistently showing gratitude for the efforts of everyone around him.
The Qatar track layout and the strong pace of McLaren and Red Bull present significant challenges for the SF-25. Ferrari, however, is fully focused on next season, knowing that mistakes will once again be unacceptable. Lewis Hamilton, in turn, is concentrating on himself and the work only he can carry out to improve the fortunes of the later stages of his career.
Hamilton: “It will take time, Leclerc doesn’t worry me”
Lewis Hamilton does not seem concerned by the internal competition with Charles Leclerc this season. He explains, “I am not worried about that. At this time, my focus has been entirely on myself. Clearly, Charles has done an excellent job. He has been here for seven years and has a well-established team around him. Everything is well-oiled.”
“On my side, I have a new group of people. This is a new environment that I am still learning to work with. Then, mid-season, another new member joined the team. So we are all working as hard as possible, but achieving the same level of cohesion as someone who has been here for several years… that doesn’t happen overnight. It takes some time,” Lewis Hamilton concluded.
For Ferrari fans dreaming of an instant Lewis Hamilton – Charles Leclerc title fight in 2026, the message is clear: patience will be required before the new partnership hits top gear.
