“I believe that the move that brought Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari was quite natural in the end,” says Frederic Vasseur in an interview with Carlo Vanzini for Sky Sport.

“He has been part of the McLaren family and then the Mercedes family, with two different paths, but I think he always had in mind the idea that, to complete the circle, he would have to come to Maranello. I also think that from our perspective, it made sense to take a driver of his experience and with such a prestigious palmares. I believe he can be a reference point for the team’s development in the future.” – the Ferrari team boss pointed out.

For every incoming driver, there’s also one leaving, with Carlos Sainz, despite all signs pointing to an almost certain renewal, leaving the team at the end of the 2024 Formula One season and as of now, he has not yet announced his new destination.

Nevertheless, the manager from France is not afraid that the news could have repercussions on the two drivers: “Carlos Sainz understands the situation, and I’m sure he will perform well until the last corner of the season. Charles Leclerc is a smart guy. He immediately understood what he can achieve and learn from this collaboration. He sees it more as an opportunity.” – the Ferrari team principal concluded.
