Imola, curbs redone
While Monza is grappling with extensive interventions, the success of which will determine the fate of the Grand Prix in the future of Formula 1, Imola requires much more limited touch-ups.
The Italian circuit, however, is not standing idly by, and ahead of the F1 weekend on May 17-19 (just a few days after the 30th anniversary of the tragedies of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna), it has undergone a makeover with a package of works costing around €250,000.
In addition to the modernization of the central stands of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit and interventions on the entrance tower of the circuit and the restroom facilities of Checco Costa’s museum, Imola has also redone the curbs.
As shown in the photos sent by our reader Lorenzo Franceschelli, improvement works are underway in various turns of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit, as is the case every year. Specifically, the works aim to eliminate the deterrents and remove the external concrete at Piratella, Acque Minerali, and Variante Alta. Imola’s contract with Formula 1 expires in 2025, but it is expected to remain in the calendar at least until 2026 to “recover” the edition not held in 2023 due to the flood.
